This Week In Review (8/2 - 13/2)

A whole week of relief teaching at BDS. Tiring hiking up the slope that I don't even bother to put makeup on because my perspiration would just melt it all off. But I'm really pleased with my stint as a F&N relief even if I didn't take it as an O level subject. Mostly in charge of sec 2s. I even played Taboo with one class for 1.5 hours and they loved it. 14 year olds will be 14 year olds, still so intrigued with the world around them and the opposite gender. In fact, the 15 year olds are too. I like working there cos the students will call "Cikgu!" when they see me though I barely recognise them and I don't even know their names. And I spent Total Defence Firedrill and had a CNY concert with them too. BDS hosted the Elderlies from across the street for breakfast and concert. Made me like the school a bit more. And Mak Lob treated me lunch at a yummy authentic Chinese restaurant with cheap hawker food that I didn't know existed across Simpang.

Netball Reunion Dinner!!! with Charlene, Fadilah and Muhaina on Tuesday.

The tired Miss Muhaina after a day of naughty students.

Char looks so distant...

I like our teeth in this picture. HAHAHA.

Working relief there in the morning and then rushing to the library in the afternoon is really draining even though there's really not much work at the library. On Wednesday, Sufhyia and Maryam popped by even though it was not their duty. They brought 2 egg tarts from KFC and it's really gorgeous tasting. Caramell-ish and... OOOH! Not bad for KFC tarts. Maryam suddenly had a genius inspiration to have a pop quiz on Taufik Batisah for me and Suf because we're both quite similar in interests. Suf said she's really glad she got me as a partner... AWW SO SWEET! Then we ate at Waffle Factory for dinner, a first for me. It's not bad. I will go there for lunch next time too.

Thursday went to Tangs sale with Muu and bought a bag! Thanks to Muu's advice. HAHA. Kind of funny. I love that you liked that lovely bag with the not so nice handle but it was still a lovely bag and I love that you have an opinion on every bag. MWAX!

Thursdays for 5 weeks I'm taking Archery lessons with Bahiah. Even though I was really tired that day it was fun. The instructors are friendly and they ask you to talk in Malay if you want. Such kind effort for them to make us feel comfortable. But it's okay Uncle, we speak better English I think. So we learnt how to set up the bow (I bet that Uncle's going to test us next week and I don't think I can really remember which side goes to which side) and we shot an arrow!

Oh gosh the first time I was really really scared. Because I still don't know how to shoot a rubber band, so, what makes me think I can shoot a bow and arrow??!?! I had to pull my right arm and right shoulder as far as I could but the nerves and the percentage increase of arm muscles turning to fat since sec 4 made me really tremble. Uncle saw it and said, "Ok, I'm going to have to guide you." Then he held the bow and really stretched my arms and he said "Ok, Shoot". I said, "I can't! I'm scared!" Then he said "Just do it! Take a deep breathe, aim and release!" Ok this scene was so not like how Princess Mia and that hot prince was when she had to do her flaming arrow shoot. I was just a freaking bundle of nerves that I SCREAMED when I let go off the string that held the arrow. Luckily there was just a few people in the hall: 3 students, 2 instructors, 1 private instructor, 1 private student. But come to think of it, even if there were a lot of people I would have still screamed. It felt liberating but I think I was too tired to really care. The arrow stuck at the board and I was just soooo HAPPY. Bahiah is such a pro. All her arrows were 90 degrees but mine is like 45 degrees from the board.

YEAHH YEAHH so 4 more sessions of archery and I'll try something else. And when I'm a pro and can shoot on target, I can head down to the Tampines Archery Range. Then I can stick the face of whoever I'm pissed of at on the target board and totally poke out their eyes and nose and ears. Muwahax. What a lovely mid-week mind rester. Makes me smile.

Brought Ilhan to Ayah Cik's pool yesterday for playdate session with Nadiah, Farah and Faris... Reminds me of Charlene's LOSE WEIGHT AND KEEP FIT regime. Got to start soon.

Faris and Ilhan. No Faris is not of European descendant. He's really Malay. He just has curly brown hair and very very fair transluscent skin. Even though my whole family is really Malay with some of my cousins being 1/4 Chinese, some of them look like other races really. For example: Japanese, Chinese and Ang Moh. Ayyer.. Haha.

And I want to live somewhere near a big park and a water body. Like in a condo opposite Bedok Reservoir. That'd be nice. In between the two families.

Happy Chinese New Year Holidays!!!
