Fence Love Bayybehh!
12:37 AM Sunday, February 21, 2010

*Sighhhhs* How lovely.... Ive always adored the things people do with fences. I remember coming across a picture in which somebody wrote a love note with locks on fences and the locks formed a heart shape. All these lovely eccentric things..

Weird Things
3:31 PM Friday, February 19, 2010

When I cut (ctrl + X) something out, I need to paste (ctrl + V) it somewhere. Even when I realise that I don't need to paste it anywhere, I will have to open a blank Notepad, paste it and close it. It's not the same if I copy (ctrl + C) something out though. I don't have OCD allright....! Well maybe a minor one?

Books have a life of their own. I would have rearranged them properly, and there they are standing neatly on their own and suddenly I hear a soft thud. See how gravity has flexed its muscles? No, I'm not scared... just really lazy to get a bookstand for these books.

This Week In Review (8/2 - 13/2)
9:01 PM Sunday, February 14, 2010

A whole week of relief teaching at BDS. Tiring hiking up the slope that I don't even bother to put makeup on because my perspiration would just melt it all off. But I'm really pleased with my stint as a F&N relief even if I didn't take it as an O level subject. Mostly in charge of sec 2s. I even played Taboo with one class for 1.5 hours and they loved it. 14 year olds will be 14 year olds, still so intrigued with the world around them and the opposite gender. In fact, the 15 year olds are too. I like working there cos the students will call "Cikgu!" when they see me though I barely recognise them and I don't even know their names. And I spent Total Defence Firedrill and had a CNY concert with them too. BDS hosted the Elderlies from across the street for breakfast and concert. Made me like the school a bit more. And Mak Lob treated me lunch at a yummy authentic Chinese restaurant with cheap hawker food that I didn't know existed across Simpang.

Netball Reunion Dinner!!! with Charlene, Fadilah and Muhaina on Tuesday.

The tired Miss Muhaina after a day of naughty students.

Char looks so distant...

I like our teeth in this picture. HAHAHA.

Working relief there in the morning and then rushing to the library in the afternoon is really draining even though there's really not much work at the library. On Wednesday, Sufhyia and Maryam popped by even though it was not their duty. They brought 2 egg tarts from KFC and it's really gorgeous tasting. Caramell-ish and... OOOH! Not bad for KFC tarts. Maryam suddenly had a genius inspiration to have a pop quiz on Taufik Batisah for me and Suf because we're both quite similar in interests. Suf said she's really glad she got me as a partner... AWW SO SWEET! Then we ate at Waffle Factory for dinner, a first for me. It's not bad. I will go there for lunch next time too.

Thursday went to Tangs sale with Muu and bought a bag! Thanks to Muu's advice. HAHA. Kind of funny. I love that you liked that lovely bag with the not so nice handle but it was still a lovely bag and I love that you have an opinion on every bag. MWAX!

Thursdays for 5 weeks I'm taking Archery lessons with Bahiah. Even though I was really tired that day it was fun. The instructors are friendly and they ask you to talk in Malay if you want. Such kind effort for them to make us feel comfortable. But it's okay Uncle, we speak better English I think. So we learnt how to set up the bow (I bet that Uncle's going to test us next week and I don't think I can really remember which side goes to which side) and we shot an arrow!

Oh gosh the first time I was really really scared. Because I still don't know how to shoot a rubber band, so, what makes me think I can shoot a bow and arrow??!?! I had to pull my right arm and right shoulder as far as I could but the nerves and the percentage increase of arm muscles turning to fat since sec 4 made me really tremble. Uncle saw it and said, "Ok, I'm going to have to guide you." Then he held the bow and really stretched my arms and he said "Ok, Shoot". I said, "I can't! I'm scared!" Then he said "Just do it! Take a deep breathe, aim and release!" Ok this scene was so not like how Princess Mia and that hot prince was when she had to do her flaming arrow shoot. I was just a freaking bundle of nerves that I SCREAMED when I let go off the string that held the arrow. Luckily there was just a few people in the hall: 3 students, 2 instructors, 1 private instructor, 1 private student. But come to think of it, even if there were a lot of people I would have still screamed. It felt liberating but I think I was too tired to really care. The arrow stuck at the board and I was just soooo HAPPY. Bahiah is such a pro. All her arrows were 90 degrees but mine is like 45 degrees from the board.

YEAHH YEAHH so 4 more sessions of archery and I'll try something else. And when I'm a pro and can shoot on target, I can head down to the Tampines Archery Range. Then I can stick the face of whoever I'm pissed of at on the target board and totally poke out their eyes and nose and ears. Muwahax. What a lovely mid-week mind rester. Makes me smile.

Brought Ilhan to Ayah Cik's pool yesterday for playdate session with Nadiah, Farah and Faris... Reminds me of Charlene's LOSE WEIGHT AND KEEP FIT regime. Got to start soon.

Faris and Ilhan. No Faris is not of European descendant. He's really Malay. He just has curly brown hair and very very fair transluscent skin. Even though my whole family is really Malay with some of my cousins being 1/4 Chinese, some of them look like other races really. For example: Japanese, Chinese and Ang Moh. Ayyer.. Haha.

And I want to live somewhere near a big park and a water body. Like in a condo opposite Bedok Reservoir. That'd be nice. In between the two families.

Happy Chinese New Year Holidays!!!

I don't know how to whistle and make a bubble out of a bubble gum

"And even though we know we shouldn’t love them, we do and always will. Because there are just a small number of people in this world who will “get” us for reasons we can’t explain, even when they shouldn’t."

“ It’s weird, like when you’re in love, all of a sudden you’re hearing all of these love songs for the first time, and it feels like the singer is just talking to you alone, reading your mind. When you’re grieving, it’s the same thing. I’m in tune with all the sadness of the world suddenly. You know, songs find you, poems find you, people find you."

"Loving the right person at the wrong time, having the wrong person when the time is right and finding out you love someone right after that person walks out of your life. And sometimes, you think you’re already over a person, but when you see them smile at you, you’ll suddenly realize that you’re just pretending to be over them just to ease the pain of knowing that they will never be yours again. For some, they think that letting go is one way of expressing how much they love that person. Some are afraid to see the one they love being held by someone else. Most relationships tend to fail not because the absence of love. Love is always present. It’s just that one was being loved too much and the other was being love too little. As we all know that the heart is the center of the body but it beats on the left. Maybe that’s the reason why the heart is not always right. Most often we fall in love with the person we think we love but to only discover that for them, we are just for passing time while the one who truly loves us remains either a friend or a stranger. So here’s a piece of advice; let go when you’re hurting too much, give up when love isn’t enough, and move on when things are not like before. For sure there is someone out there who will love you even more."

“ When you are with me, I’m free. Sometimes there are things in our life that aren’t meant to stay. Sometimes change may not be what we want. Sometimes change is what we really need and sometimes saying goodbye is the hardest thing you think you’ll ever have to do, but sometimes it’s saying hello again that breaks you down and makes you the most vulnerable person you’ll ever know. Sometimes change is too much to bear, but most of the time change is the only thing saving your life. ”

"The heart is a muscle, and what do muscles do when they are torn? They grow back stronger."

"It's funny how you still love the person, but you just stop needing them like you used to.
I guess it is moving on"

"Sometimes all you can do is not think. Not wonder. Not obsess. Not imagine. Just breathe. breathe in, breathe out. Everything works out in the end, and the more time you spend worrying about it, the longer it takes for things to end perfectly. Just the way they should."

All were taken from In the Midst of Thinking. He has some pretty good thoughts. Haha..

Song of the moment: I'm a Loner by C.N. Blue
11:23 PM Sunday, February 7, 2010

Ok forget about they meaning of the lyrics really, this song is soooo catchy. It's really refreshing that this band is not from any of the big labels (i.e. : YG/SM/JYP) so they can be considered indie. I am just sooo addicted to the starting, the "SAD SAD SAD SAD SAD tonight" and the "daradiridaradduu". And I this song just leaves me feeling satisfied, like a catharsis... like if I can play the electronic guitar parts like that I may be able to expel out everything because it really tears up the thoughts, the memories, in a good way. And fictional band A.N.Gell member, Shin Woo is there too.

Anyway, I'm using songs to replace the thoughts in my head till I can't take it anymore, then I have to write it down somewhere and counsel myself.

Fav Korean bands are now:
#1 Big Bang
#2 2NE1
#3 2PM
#4 C.N. Blue
#5 2 AM

And I like Alex (Clazziquai) because his voice is soothing and friendly. It's like a snowman singing. Hwayobi's voice is v powerful too...

I just prefer listening to Korean songs because I don't understand the lyrics but I understand the emotions that they portray. I think I don't to understand the lyrics too. I'm shying away from English and Malay songs nowadays. And I love duets.

When you think that your life is like a Korean drama, you're too obsessed with Korean drama already. You need to get a reality check. This is life which Korean dramas only attempt to imitate. In reality, life is more hopeless, more tear-inducing, more heart-wrenching than Korean dramas. Life has more moments when you feel helpless, when you feel like kicking someone in the arse, when you feel like stabbing someone. Yes, life has more of these moments.

But life, also has sweeter moments that if shown fully in a Korean drama, will be too vomit-inducing than all the vomit-inducing moments in K-dramas put together. And in life, the script is not yet written.

Good luck!
:D

P.S. I saw Shahrena at D.A. today. Always nice to see her.
P.P.S One week of relief teaching! Whoopdedoop.

Things I learnt from "You're Beautiful" up till episode 8
1:11 AM Thursday, February 4, 2010

1. You're still a girl even though you hide behind boy clothes and boy hairstyles. That's why you shouldn't cross dress, it makes things confusing. It makes feelings confusing. Poor Jeremy.

2. When you're down you should take a bus ride that brings you back to your starting point (Loop) which takes about an hour to complete. It calms Jeremy's heart.

3. When your friend is down you should bring him/her to try those 10 level of spicy chicken foodie things and challenge them. (I can't even tahan Level 2)

4. Bring him/her on a scooter and ride through the town saying "HELLO!" and "I LOVE YOU" to everyone even (i guess bicycle would be the next best thing, and I might not get the same response as the people on the set! wahhax)

5. Life is very sad sometimes. Which is why I, Safiah, have to be grateful for everything that has happened thus far and for how I am now. Thank you God. Thank you everyone. :D

6. It's very hard to be charming.

So whey you're down my friends, like when you're getting over a heartbreak or a brainbreak or a soulbreak, tell me okay, I'd love to do these things with you. Isn't it nice to have a friend like Jeremy?

"Maybe I come from dust. And maybe the air and the lights and the world will one day tear me apart and to dust, I will return. But if you ever see me again, in this life or the next, there will be enough of me left, to become a rock.

Or something, at least, that you can lean on."

Yes. Very. Very. Hopeful.

"Sometimes people fall apart. sometimes they can stick together. other times, it's just best to move on to two different directions because that's all there is left to do. and maybe in the end, it's all for the better."
